GIRLS’ NIGHTS OUT – AUGUST UPDATE AND DATES FOR THE DIARY
The Girls’ Nights Out initiative aims to raise funds for the Bill Hutchison Foundation by bringing together women (and sometimes their partners) in various social events. This year the initiative is aiming to raise the funds required for the Foundation's major sponsorship of the AFL Victoria Youth Girls Academy. The Academy keeps girls and young women involved in footy not only as players but as coaches, umpires and in other roles.
In August, the initiative organised a French-inspired evening with a rustic meal of Oeufs Mimosa and Coq au Vin. The meal was followed by a viewing of the classic film ‘Jean de Florette’. There was no charge for the evening but we raised $200 through donations to the Foundation. All donations over $2 are tax-deductible. There is also no charge to join the group and we welcome women of all ages, even Cats, Dogs, Pies and Blues, or with no affiliation at all.

SEPTEMBER
12 September (6.30 pm) – Fashion show, champagne and nibbles at ‘Blue Illusion’, 91 Puckle Street, Moonee Ponds. This is being organised by the Business and Professional Women’s Association (Moonee Valley local branch, Doutta Galla), with 20% of proceeds going to BPW Doutta Galla 2010 projects. GNO women are invited too. Tickets are $12 from Tracey 0417 545 338 or Jane 0439 686 472. Please tell them the invitation came via the Bill Hutchison Foundation Girls’ Night Out initiative.
30 September -- a gala date for the diary. The Girls’ Night Out initiative is putting together tables of 10 for the EFC Crichton Medal dinner (Best and Fairest medal presentation, plus other highlights of the EFC year plus great food, laughs and lots of bling! A real dress-up event!) Crown Palladium, cost $170. Of course you can bring partners to this one. Please let June know as soon as you can, since this is always a sell-out event.
September (date to be confirmed). Dinner, possibly with a 'Bollywood' theme, with a new Bollywood movie, some Bollywood dance lessons for those who are up for it, and good Indian food. Free, but donation recommended. Details will be sent to all those on the e-mailing list.
OCTOBER
10 October -- another gala event. The Starlight Bling Ball is raising funds for the Starlight Children's Foundation, which does great work for children. For every ticket bought through the BHF, $10 also goes to the BHF. Tickets cost $85 and of course partners are invited too. We are aiming to make up a table of 10, so get in soon. Let June Kane know by 10 September if you want a ticket. The venue is in Tullamarine.
October (date to be confirmed). Gold Class movie night, with pre-movie drinks and nibbles. Cost will be price of a group ticket and a $10 donation to the BHF will be welcomed (tax-deductible).
NOVEMBER/DECEMBER
